Art Exhibition - Sense of Place

Class 3 and 4 worked with artist Paul Merrick as part of the Sense of Place project which involved four schools and 356 children.  At Holy Trinity the project started with a walk around the local area and the children filled their own sketchbooks with ideas, observations, quick drawings and rubbings of their immediate surroundings, playing close attention to key landmarks, beacons and architecture.  The children then translated their sketchbook drawings into collages and sculptures, constructing a series of mini monuments to create their own three dimensional map of their hometown.
